no, really?!
Pattern: February Lady Sweater
Yarn: Cascade 220, heathered forest green, 4 skeins
Needles: #8 body, #7 sleeves
I have a 36″ bust, and I made the XXS.
Modifications: Instead of doing the raglan increases as M1, I did them as YOs. I also skipped the buttonholes, and instead borrowed the closure from an early-1900s sweater pattern that I have: 3 rows of buttons connected with crocheted loops.
I still have to block it, at which point (of course!) the lace will be prettier, the body will close around my hips, and the sleeves will be about 2″ longer, but I wanted to wear it right away, so…
I love it. I think this might be my new favorite sweater.
In other news, I’m (slowly) moving my way across the country. I loaded up my car on Friday and said goodbye to Adam and Maine – without a doubt, the hardest voluntary thing I’ve ever done. I may or may not have cried for the first 5 hours of my trip… *ahem*. Anyway, the initial plan was to drive straight through to Michigan in basically one shot, stopping only to nap in rest areas, but a phone call to Mom and sense was talked into me… I ended up coming here to my childhood home instead. I was going to just spend the night, which then became “stay for Easter”, and now the plan is to set off for Michigan tomorrow. I’m not in a hurry, after all – I might as well enjoy my family while I have the chance.

I love it! The buttons are a great idea. I wish I was smart enough to come up with something like that. I hated knitting the buttonholes. I am also jealous that yours is going to close around your hips. Someday……
Are those wood buttons? I think it’s a little freaky that we used the same yarn and possibly similar buttons.
WE’RE CONNECTED AT THE BRAAAAAIN….
They are wood buttons… just some cheapy 7/8″ ones I picked up at Walmart. My original intent was to dye them darker with stain, but I got lazy.
I really don’t know if I’m going to be able to get it around my hips; my bind-off was kinda tight. And god forbid, all it’s going to take is gaining about 3lbs and it won’t fit at all. LOL!
Love the sweater! Too cute! You always make the cutest things!
What’s in Michigan?
