An assigment, for people bored enough by work on a Monday to want to give it a whirl.
I need to think of things in sets of five. They should be separate and distinct objects that work fine on their own, but are even better (more powerful, more complete, etc) when the five objects are together.
Examples of good ideas:
- The original Lucky Charms – yes, as in the cereal – pink hearts, yellow moons, orange stars, green clovers, blue diamonds
- The five elements – earth, air, water, fire, spirit
- Voltron – I shouldn’t need to expound on that one, right?
They should NOT be items that are not something complete on their own. They should also not be 5 of the same object.
Examples of bad ideas:
- Five points of a star
- Five petals of a flower
These ideas can be as silly or as serious as you can think of. I mean, really – just throw out ideas. I will tell you that out of the 3 I mentioned, so far, the Lucky Charms are winning… so obviously, this isn’t something that has to be deep, meaningful, or serious in any way. In fact, the reason I’m brainstorming ideas in the first place is completely ridiculous on so many levels, but just too weird (in my world, that is) to resist.
And of course I’ll tell you what that reason is… eventually. If I told you now, I think people would try harder to come up with GOOD ideas. I don’t want GOOD ideas. I want IDEAS. Now… go!

Here are some:
1. Lego collections: red brick, yellow brick, green brick, blue brick, & black brick.
2. Place setting: fork, knife, spoon, plate, cup.
3. Justice League: Superman, Wonderwoman, Green Lantern, The Flash, and Batman.
4. LifeSavers: lime, lemon, orange, cherry, & pineapple.
I can’t think of anything else. Can’t wait to hear what this is for.

Go to the grocery store – one of the big ones, this doesn’t work as well at the co-op – and hang out near the registers.
When someone checks out with five and only five items make a note of it and go with whatever they bought.

Thanks so far, guys!
Art – That is a damn cool idea. I’m going shopping tomorrow – I’ll be sure to take the “express” lane, which is always the longest anyway; more opportunities for basket-peeping.
Lisa – It’s probably not as interesting or exciting of an idea as you’re imagining, heh.

I know what this is about, and voltron was my vote. Oh yeah, and I have a change of YouAreElle.

You change your URL like some people change their underwear.
It figures that voltron was your vote.
That’s a good idea and all, but we’d each have to go on a separate day. No way anyone would do all 5 in one day.
