quick fixes
Well, after the Tea Rose fiasco, I decided that I really needed a quick, mindless, guaranteed-to-fit kind of fix. I’ve had a cowl/neckwarmer on the needles for a long time now, and I figured I’d finish it. That was Thursday night. Then, yesterday, I ended up sitting in a doctor’s office for an hour and a half (side note: clinics SUCK), during which time I chewed through half of cowl #2. I finished that one tonight during Jeopardy.

After I finished the first one, I realized that it would be perfect to sell in the shop. I’ve steered clear of handknits only because I’m such a slow knitter… between that and the cost of yarn, it just wouldn’t be worth it. But stuff like this is a different story altogether! I don’t plan on putting up any cold-weather woolies before August, so I have some time to think about it. Meanwhile, I can vouch for them actually being pretty darn warm.
And, of course, I’ve been dyeing, too.

The upper yarn in that first picture is quickly becoming the bane of my existence. See, I made those early in the week, put them in the store, and they both sold within 2 hours. I loved the colors so much that I decided to duplicate them, so that I could knit something for myself. Right. So far, I’ve managed to get the bottom yarn (Red Sky at Morning) pretty well, but not the top one. One of my “mistakes” (Lollipops) is in the store, the other is here on the desk, taunting me. Stupid attitudinous yarn!
I was just looking over my flickr pictures, and ya know, for someone who had no plans going into it, I’m doing pretty good with the Project Spectrum participation – maybe not over all, but compared to last year? Definitely.
One last thing! Getting back to quick fixes, sometimes you really just need one, right? Right! So join the rest of us instant-gratification types… there’s a knit-along starting April 1. Be there!
