why should knit socks have all the fun?

(I still might, but the chances of finishing the other sock are better than if I’d kept going to midcalf.)
I shaped the foot using the general instructions here, and the cuff was done in a stitch pattern called Peephole Chevron, from a stitch book I have.
The yarn is this very thin, very shimmery orange stuff that was in a bag lot from the thrift store. It’s too thin to knit with any of the needles I have right now, so that made it a perfect choice for crocheting.
I’m quite pleased.
In other news, dad isn’t doing so good on the chemo, and now my stepmom is in the hospital, for reasons that I don’t feel comfortable getting into on here. My youngest brother is on his way up to visit, but once he leaves, I’m going down there to take care of dad. Once again, I have no idea how long I’ll be gone. I’m sick as a dog today from all the worry. This is harder on me than I’d normally want to admit.

Your sock looks fab, especially with those fishnets and heels!
I’m so sorry to hear about your dad and stepmom. My thoughts will be with you all day. I hope you feel better soon too!
My well-wishes are with you as you travel.
(And oh-my-god those socks are FABULOUS!)
I am sorry to hear about your family and all of the health problems – my thoughts will definitely be with you, Casey.
The socks are so very cute. Love the high heel shot
